Planning an Exciting Spring

If you have been reading our last few blogs you have seen and learned about some of the projects we have been working on for different not for profit groups, schools and holidays. We have been busy trying new things and learning a lot! We had some challenges with colors, but we made a few tweaks and figured out solutions.

Next on the horizon for us is the birthday circuit. The DC Soapery is planning for it's first round of birthday parties where we make soap with children, tweens, teens and even adults! We are looking forward to trying out some interesting ideas for parties and will keep you posted via the web site and our blog. Keep an eye out and remember to reach out to us should you be looking for a fun and interesting idea for a get together with friends. We can plan for birthdays, wedding showers, bridal showers, girls and guys night out and a host of other 'get-togethers'.

Teacher Appreciation Week

One of my girlfriends is on the PTA committee at her children's school and they are working on putting together some gift baskets for teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. She asked me if I would be willing to come up with some cute soap ideas for the gift baskets and I jumped at the opportunity.

Along with the fun and pretty soaps I make regularly, I decided to try my hand at a little traditional teacher style items like apples and pencils...these are examples of what I have been working on!

Have a Ducky Easter!

Yay! Some pictures of our Easter Ducky soaps are up on our Facebook site and soon to be on our web site. We had a lot of fun making these darling soaps. I think we will also have fun using them!

Some of our duckies and other 'in a tub' animals have a built in squirter which makes these even more fun! Our 'in a tub' line of soaps are made from the same natural ingredients as our Bath and Body soaps and can be scented or unscented. Just let us know your preferences.

We're sure you will find these as cute as we do and we don't expect them to last long in our inventory, so please order asap! Have a wonderful Easter and should you want to add some smiles to your loved ones' faces this easter, try giving some of the DC Soapery products along with all the chocolates and see which makes the biggest splash!

Upcoming Events

Hi DC Soapery Viewers,

Easter is coming and we have been hard at work getting all our little chicks and bunnies (and other animals too!) snugly nestled into a bubble bath. Look for pictures in the next day or so and see how cute they are.

Also, look for some really fun examples of soaps and bath treatments we are creating for Teacher Appreciation week. We think our apples will delight our teachers.

Check back with us for pictures!!

A Fun Way to Get Started

The web site is up! Thanks to Carly and Josh of Design Oomph (http://www.design-oomph.com/) for being great partners.

Yesterday was a big day for The DC Soapery. We participated in a wonderful fundraising event by donating over $500 dollars worth of soap products and services to The Pan American Liaison Committee of Women's Organizations, (PALCO).

PALCO, together with the Organization of America States (OAS) and the Ministry of Education in Peru, hosted an event on Saturday, April 9th, 2011. The event raised funds for disadvantaged, disabled children in Peru, SA. Many young children who cannot walk are often carried to school by their mothers. Once the children become too big to carry, they have no choice but to stop attending school because they have no other means by which to travel back and forth to school. The funds raised yesterday were donated to a wheelchair manufacturer in Peru, to provide wheelchairs for some of these children.

PALCO's event was full of beautiful items donated by many different retail stores and other organizations. In addition, the entertainment was spectacular. We are very honored and proud to have participated in this event and support PALCO in this noble cause.
